Taapsee Pannu pledges to spread self-defence on National Girl Child day

Taapsee Pannu has been associated with several powerful women-oriented films like PINK and Naam Shabana but the actress also contributes to the society by doing her share for social causes related to women. The actress has now decided to take a major step towards self-defence to commemorate the National Girl Child day.

Taapsee has always been vocal about the need for gender equality and women safety. After having supported several causes related to self-defence and even extending support towards teaching defence education for young girls, the actress will now promote self-defence on the National Girl Child day too. She had previously also supported an initiative in her own school to start giving self- defence classes to young children. While it was her idea to bring about this major change in her alma mater, today on National Girl Child day, Taapsee plans to extend this by branching out. She wants to help spread education of self- defence to young girls.

She has reportedly pledged that on this Girl child day she will support and activate more such initiatives through the help of experts, self-defence educators and through the means of local NGOs in different parts of the country.

We are in conversation with few experts and NGO’s and I hope it works out soon.”

From cyberbullying to raising her voice when she received flak owing to one of her statements made against a South director, Taapsee Pannu has always tried to stand tall amidst controversies. On the work front, after the stupendous success of Judwaa 2, the actress’ next release is Dil Juunglee that features her opposite Saqib Saleem. Besides this, her other forthcoming films include Soorma, Mulk and Manmarziyaan.

Much- anticipated war film, the first ever on a Param Vir Chakra recipient; titled on the name of the martyr Subedar Joginder Singh has once again bombarded the internet with its next asset which was released yesterday by the makers Seven Colors Motion Picture.

The inspiration to make this film on the brave Indian soldier who served the British Indian Army, and later the Indian Army, is drawn from the true to life events and incidents of his life that led him to become what he became and is now remembered in a reverential

We all seem to have forgotten the chapter from the annals of our history, the Sino-Indian War, 1962, wherein, a handful of Sikh soldiers stood strong against the waves of thousands of Chinese army men, trying to intrude in our country. The film’s teaser showcases a series of events, which must have happened then. The makers have, to utmost precision, maintained the authenticity of the subject. It goes without saying that the teaser is strong, powerful, precise, and intricately planned. It, expeditiously, rushes through your sight leaving behind a deep impression on your mind; instantaneously arousing deep respect for the nation, and for the people who uninterruptedly work for the protection of its honor.

On the eve of India’s Republic Day, the teaser of this war film- a subject of national importance has reverted people’s attention to the forgotten chapter of our rich history, wherein, the strategic Line of Actual Control was being attempted by the Chinese army to barge in. Few of our soldiers, belonging to the Sikh Regiment and being led by one courageous soul- Subedar Joginder Singh stood rock steady in front of the Chinese troop to protect the sovereignty of our motherland. The teaser of the film, very well captures the patriotic sentiment of the cast if the film, making the same travel in to the heart of general audiences. One faces the adrenaline and a sudden energy outburst when the Sikh regiment’s war cry ‘Jo Boley So Nihal, Sat Shri Akaal’ is hailed in the teaser.

Gippy Grewal’s dialogue in the teaser, ‘For your kind information, this land belongs to India’ is a rage amongst the youth, already! His acting skills have surpassed his previous performances of a lover boy, and this film, in all likelihood, will turn out to be the best war film ever made in the history of Punjabi Cinema. Kudos to the entire team of Subedar Joginder Singh; whose sincere efforts of educating the masses about this brave soldier, and his supreme sacrifices for the nation have started delivering the results in the desired manner.

The film is all set to release during the first week of April 2018.

Karni Sena ends agitation against Padmaavat?

The solution to the current imbroglio that has overtaken Padmaavat has been found. Members of the Karni Sena watched the film on Tuesday evening and gave it a clean chit. In what was clearly a face-saving device, the Karni Sena claimed that the film’s makers had made all the changes required by the Sena.

However, a member of the Padmaavat team has another story to tell. “No changes were made. The Karni Sena saw exactly what Sanjay Bhansali had shot. Nothing more nothing less. When they realized there was nothing objectionable they decided to back off pretending that the changes had been made.”

Be as it might, the producers Viacom 18 and Bhansali can breathe a sigh of relief and now release the film on schedule without fear of a backlash.

Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan starrer Karwan to release on June 1

Dulquer Salmaan earned fame across the country even before his Bollywood debut and hence, his first Hindi film is definitely garnering attention. Titled Karwan, adding to the curiousity is the combination of Irrfan Khan and web-star Mithila Palkar who too is making her debut with this film. While it went on floor in 2017, now the makers have even locked the release date for the film to be June 1.

Interestingly, Karwan is a road trip film and it may clash with the Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Veere Di Wedding. The latter too boasts about having a backdrop of a road trip along with a big fat Indian wedding being one of the integral parts of the film. Veere Di Wedding which was supposed to release in May recently shifted the dates to June owing to avoid clashes with biggies.

In the year 2018, many films have to shift their release dates after Padmaavat [Padmavati] locked its release date as January 25. While it turned out to be a solo release during the Indian Republic weekend, many films decided to alter their release dates.

On the other hand, talking about Karwan, the film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and it has been extensively shot in Ooty and Kochi.
